Thrilled to finally be able to share the great news - my agent Miranda Paul secured not a one, but TWO-book deal with Janine O'Malley at FSG for the release of my picture book debut, BIG TUNE!
A joyful, rhythmic tale about a shy boy working up his courage to show off his dance moves at his outgoing Caribbean-American family's monthly dancehall party, it invokes humor, heart, and some nostalgia for those of us who vividly remember the 1990's. ;-)
I can't wait to share it with you all, and I am thrilled illustrator-educator Shamar Knight Justice will be bringing our protagonist's vivid world to life!
Created in the midst of the pandemic when family reunions were more dream than reality, BIG TUNE was written to share the joy of family, music, and community from the perspective of the story's courageous, industrious, and generous 8 year-old hero.
