Thrilled to share the news that I will be releasing The Juneteenth Story, a non-fiction picture book recounting the history of the Juneteenth holiday! It will be illustrated by Sawyer Cloud and edited by Taryn Albright of becker&mayer! kids.
The Juneteenth Story was created to be a useful resource for those interested in learning more about the events and circumstances leading up to the first Juneteenth, and the evolution of the celebration to its designation as a federal holiday.
